Free Overnight Shipping at Endless.com
Anybody out there still not finished with their Christmas shopping? You’re not alone. The good news is that you can still shop online and not have to pay a ridiculous amount for shipping. Endless.com is offering free overnight shipping today and tomorrow, so you can get your order by Christmas.
I found some very nice Buster Brown boots at a great price that I know Pumpkin would adore, but I’m afraid they will be too tall for her. So I’m debating on whether to get them for her or not. They also have some good deals on men’s, women’s and boys’ shoes and designer handbags. So if you’re looking for a great last-minute gift but don’t want to fight the crowds, check them out!
Mom’s on the Road Again
My mom went across the state to spend the week with my uncle last week. He has cancer, and she’s trying to spend as much time with him as possible before it’s too late. I’m hoping to go up with her sometime before too long, but I can only spend a weekend at the most, so this wasn’t the time.
She got back this past weekend, and she left today to go spend the holidays with my sister down in southern NC. As much as she’s staying on the road, maybe I should have bought her some travel insurance for Christmas.
I live a little over an hour away, and she has yet to come see my new house. She’s afraid to drive this far on her own, and with gas prices and the budget the way they were for so long, picking her up and taking her back wasn’t an option. Now winter is here, and we have one truck with not-so-good tires and another that the 4-wheel drive has gone out in. So I guess I’ll have to wait until spring before I have any hope of getting her to come spend some time with me.

Win a $100 Sears Gift Card
There have been lots of blog giveaways going on lately. I guess it’s got something to do with Christmas and all. I ran across an awesome one just now that I thought my readers might like to know about. Lisa is giving away a $100 Sears gift certificate on her blog.
This contest ends on December 23, so it probably won’t be much help with the Christmas shopping (unless you’re like me and considering putting some of it off until after Christmas since you won’t be seeing your family anyway). But there’s something to be said for buying yourself a late Christmas gift, right? So head on over there and enter!
Shop at Amazon and Save!
I know this is short notice, but Amazon.com is offering free Super Saver Shipping with delivery by Christmas on eligible items for orders of $25 or more through December 17th. I just placed an order and saved over $12 in shipping costs!
They’ve also got some pretty sweet deals going on. I got Pumpkin a Hannah Montana Guitar Video Game that I’ve seen elsewhere for as much as $59.99 (and not less than $39.99) for $11.99. That made me a very happy camper.
Check out Amazon Outlet and the Deals page
to find some great deals too. Happy shopping!
Oh Yeah, I’m Giving Stuff Away Too!
Here I am blogging about other people’s giveaways, and I haven’t even mentioned mine! Blame it on the ADD.
I’m giving away a copy of Life Doesn’t Begin 5 Pounds from Now by Jessica Weiner and a $50 PhotoFiddle.com gift certificate over at A Work at Home Mom’s Blog. Both of them end next week, so head on over there and enter so you don’t miss out! You can get several entries in each of them by helping spread the word. Good luck!
Win a $100 Walmart Gift Card
Do you need to finish your Christmas shopping? Or are you like me, and need to get started?
Common Sense with Money is giving away a $100 Walmart Gift Card. You can enter by commenting or spreading the word about the giveaway in various ways (such as blogging about it). Entries are accepted until December 15th.
Bundling Up
It can be tricky wearing the right amount and thickness of clothing during winter in the mountains. I have an awesomely warm down coat, but I wore it out in weather that was below freezing a couple of weeks ago and burned up. My lighter jackets are not quite enough, but if I double up on them it’s too much. I dunno, maybe it’s just me.
Most of the time I don’t have to worry about keeping my head, ears and neck warm, because my hair is long and thick. But when it’s windy out or I’m going to be outside for an extended period of time, I sometimes put on a toboggan and scarf. I use to have one of those adorable beaded beanies that I wore in the winter, but it must have gotten lost in transit in one of my many moves since I’ve worn it.
I guess I’m lucky to have warm clothes for the winter. I’ve been struggling to keep Pumpkin in the right size of coat, but I was able to buy her one a couple of weeks ago. Hubby needs new coveralls for work, but hopefully the ones he has now will hold out a little longer.
Still, my whole family is doing better than some. With the economy the way it is, more and more families are doing without basic necessities such as warm coats. So if you have any extra ones that you or your family can’t or won’t wear, please consider donating them. There’s some kind of coat drive going on in pretty much any community. And if you need one, don’t hesitate to get a donated one. There are plenty of us in the same boat, and everyone deserves to stay warm.
Gifts That Keep Giving
Do you have someone on your Christmas list that you want to remember you for months to come? Get them a gift that keeps giving! Here are a couple of ideas:
Of the Month Clubs
We’ve all heard of those clubs that send you a different… something every month. Now you can find all sorts of them in one place. MonthClubStore.com offers over 40 club options. Some of them include the Soup of the Month Club, Puzzle of the Month Club, and Cigar of the Month Club. There are 3, 6, 9 and 12 month options. And they sell gift certificates too, so if you’re not sure what the intended recipient would like to receive every month, you can let him or her choose.
Netflix Gift Subscription
For the movie lover on your list, Netflix is the perfect gift. Even if the recipient is already a subscriber, he can still use the gift subscription. You can choose any plan, and purchase from 1-6 months or a full year.
These gifts give you lots of bang for your buck. Stay tuned for more gift ideas. And I promise to deliver some holiday coupon codes soon!
Lingerie on a Budget
Looking to spice up your love life, but don’t think you can afford lingerie? Bodystockings are totally the way to go. Sure, they’re not much more than an extended pair of pantyhose, but the price is definitely right. You can buy two or three of them for what you would pay for one lingerie set.
You can find some very nice bodystockings at Lingerie Diva. And with Christmas coming up, they would make nice stocking stuffers for the spousal unit. Obviously they’re great for husbands to let their wives know how attractive they find them, but it works nicely the other way around, too. And if your husband’s not so quick to catch on and doesn’t know what it is, you can just give him a wink and tell him you’ll show him later.
