No More Chest Pain

When I originally went to the doctor about my sinus infection, I had another problem of concern. I had been having chest pains. They didn’t seem heart-related, but when I mentioned it to Hubby he demanded that I ask the doctor about it. I was rather curious about what it could be myself, so I did.

After listening to my lungs to rule out bronchitis, and listening to my heart and determining that it sounded fine, she started tapping on my chest. The first couple of places she tapped felt slightly uncomfortable, but more like pressure instead of pain. Then she hit a spot that nearly brought tears to my eyes.

She said that my problem was musculoskeletal, and that it was likely due to sitting and typing so much. She said finding a better chair and watching my posture should take care of it. Interesting.

Well, I don’t have the funds to put into contemporary office furniture right now, but I have been more careful of my posture. And I haven’t done much writing anyway over the past week, because of Hubby’s surgery and its aftereffects. And, I’ve noticed that I haven’t had any chest pain. I guess doctors are good for something after all. ;) (Just kidding- Love ya, Cathy, if you’re reading this!)

I am planning on getting a new chair as soon as we can get our bills caught up. The one I have now is a hand-me-down, and it is absurdly unsupportive. The back only comes halfway up my back, and there are no armrests. The seat leaves a lot to be desired too, especially after spending several hours with my butt on it. So I guess a new chair is going to take priority over a laptop.
