Beware the After Christmas Sale
I know lots of bargain-hunters that live for the after-Christmas sales. They get up at the crack of dawn to get to the stores, snapping up all the great deals before they are gone forever. Or at least until the same stuff comes out next Christmas to be put on sale afterwards.
After Christmas sales are a great way to get Christmas decorations and gift items for cheap. But if you’re on a tight budget, don’t break it just to get a steal. It’s a good idea to make a list of things that you could really use before you hit the sales, and not get anything that’s not on it. How many times have you gone to a sale and found an awesome deal, bought it, and found it sitting in the closet a couple of years later, unused? Come on, be honest.
Don’t forget to check the post-holiday sales online as well. Shopping online is the easiest way to compare prices, and need I mention how much you’ll save on gas?
Bargains are abundant once the holidays are over, but don’t overdo it. Just remember, if you buy a bunch of stuff and only end up using a small portion of it, you’re no better off than if you had paid full price for the things you do actually use.
Blog for Bucks
Before you can save your pennies, you have to make some to save, right? If you have a blog, here’s a way you can do that: Join PayPerPost!
PayPerPost is a young company that hooks up advertisers who want their products or websites written about on blogs with bloggers who want to make money by writing about stuff. Once you are signed up, you can go through the list of available opportunities and select only the ones you want to blog about. Then you blog about them, get them approved by PPP, and 30 days later you get your money!
I can personally vouch for the fact that you can make a nice sum of extra money with PayPerPost. I don’t do paid posts on this blog right now (a blog has to be at least 90 days old before they will accept it), but I do on another blog. And I’m making anywhere from $250 to $350 or more a month from it. And when you’re pinching pennies, that much makes quite a difference.

Welcome to Penny Pinching Mom
Hi! My name is Kristy, and I’m the gal behind Penny Pinching Mom. Right now I’m pinching pennies out of sheer necessity. But once I get caught up on the bills, I know I’ll be tempted to become a big spender again. So I started this site to hold myself accountable, and to try to help other moms who need to learn how to save money in the process.
This blog is only the beginning. I plan on adding much more to the site as time permits. So join me on my journey to learn how to live on a budget!
